| | A friendly and green rural area of the island with as it's center the village of San Pedro with a lively square where the local people gather. The church San Pedro Apòstol has many holy statues and an idyllic garden.
Tobacco is grown in Breña Alta and you can see how the famous La Palma cigars are made by hand.
For lovers of handicrafts the Centro de Artesanía La Carnicería is well worth a visit.
Young and old can enjoy a visit to the Maroparque. Around 300 exotic animal species live in a diversity of plats, rocks, a waterfall, bridges etc.
There are beaches at Los Cancajos and Bajamar. The latter is very popular with the residents of Santa Cruz.
Breña Alta is an excellent area for walking with well marked walking paths and viewing points La Concepción, La Cumbre en Montaña de la Breña which give views over large parts of Santa Cruz or the east side of La Palma. |
