Description: The house, that years ago was owned by a humble country couple, has now been restaured by one of their grandsons, the present owner. Stone, wood and hand-made clay tiles are the basic materials of this type of rural houses where grain and dried fruit were conserved without heaters or fridges in boxes of pine-core wood, some of which are still carefully kept in the house. The orchards surrounding the house were cultivated with products for subsistence such as wheat, potatoes and some fruit trees. Now, they make up a splendid garden full of fruit trees and vegetables for the owner and visitors, alongside flowers and exotic plants. The entrance is really a drive bedside many plants including some banana trees.![]() | |

| Tijarafe: |
Tijarafe is an area of natural and agricultural landscape on the west side of La Palma with houses spread out over a wide area. The village of Tijarafe has a small centre with narrow streets. The church, Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, was built in the 16th century in honour of the patron saints. The church contains wll known paintings and statues.
The Casa del Maestro, is a museum whicj shows much of the traditional way of life and culture of the people of La Palma.
Viewpoint El Time is one of the best on the island. The view is over the gorge Angustias, the Aridane valley and the coast of Tazacorte, Puerto Naos and towards Fuencaliente. There is another completely different viewpoint at Baranco Garome.
Tijarafe is an excellent walking area with a large number of well marked and maintained wanlking paths. In Februari and March the thousands of almond trees burst into flower.
The Fiesta del Diabolo, the devils festival in Tijarafe is well known. At the beginning of September, during the festival week for the patron saints, the devil appears amidst the fireworks.
Under an enormous rock overhang is the bay Poris de Candelaria which is only reachable by boat or a steep twisting footpath. Traditionally this was a landing point for pirates and smugglers, today there is a stoney beach and some beach houses. It is an interesting place to visit, sunbathe and, if the sea permits it, a swim in the ocean. |

| Situation: |
| The address is Camino de Los Gomeros, nº26, El Jesús, Tijarafe, isla de La Palma. The area is very quiet in the west of the island, about 35 yards from the old royal path coming from the coast, a main route in the old days, that has been carefully restaured for ramblers, marked LPR130 and that eventually surrounds the whole island.
Just a bit further runs another path marked PR LP 12.2, that goes from the sea to the mountains.
The western situation of the place allows long and colourful sunsets that can be enjoyed almost everyday of the year. Situated only 4 km from the centre of the main village of Tijarafe, it is very easy to provide oneself with everything for the dayly needs of the house.
The modern town of Los Llanos de Aridane, 15 km away, offers every kind of shops and services.
Special mention has to be given to the Mirador of El Time, the meeting point by the way, a breathtaking panoramic view over the green Valley of Aridane. |
