Santa Cruz is een stad waar veel te zien.
De Calle O'Daly is een winkelstraat met traditionele winkels, koloniale huizen en representatieve gebouwen.
Het Plaza de Espa๑a in het hart van de stad wordt omgeven door historische gebouwen zoals de kerk Iglesia de El Salvador, het raadhuis in schitterende renaissance stijl en het nostalgische Casa Pinto.
In Santa Cruz staan veel oude herenhuizen met mooie houten balkons.
U vindt er klossters en diverse kerken met veel traditie. Ook zijn er diverse interessante musea zoals het Museo Naval, het scheepvaartmuseum.
In de drukke haven meren regelmatig grote cruise schepen aan.
De stad is beroemd voor het carnaval, de Goede Week en de Bajada de la Virgen, het feest van de patrones van La Palma wat eens in de 5 jaar gevierd wordt. |
