Scattered. Casa El Pósito is situated in Los Callejones, at a short distance from main village "Villa de Mazo". It is half way between the sea and the forested hills.

Omschrijving: Casa El Pósito stands out among all small houses of the village for its beauty and size. Resembling a "manor" house, it was used to keep the spare corn that was later sorted out when the sortage came. This happened back in the history at least as far as the XVI century. Now, the house has been restored for turistic use without resting its authenticity. It has two stories so that the kitchen-dining room occupies a comon space and keeps a rustic atmosphere with a modern functional sense. The walls has been kept simply whitewashed, so that dark carpentry of windows and big wooden door of entrance, together with floors and ceilings make up a whole strong two-colour contrast. There is a large confortable, simply and attractive saloon where the old furniture combines with modern functionality. Two large double bedrooms with two spare beds as well occupy the downstairs, both equiped with own bathrooms; both rooms have access to the surrounding ground of the house.

Mazo:

Gebied in het zuidoosten van La Palma met de luchthaven van het eiland. Het strekt zich uit van de Cumbre Vieja tot aan de kust. De Cumbre Vieja is een prachtig natuurpark met een hoeveelheid aan gemarkeerde wandelpaden.
Aan de kust, op een steenworp afstand van de luchthaven, is het strand Playa el Pocito. Hier kunt u de vliegtuigen zien binnenkomen.
De kerk Ntra. Sra. de Los Dolores uit de 18e eeuw is een mooi voorbeeld van bouwwerken uit die tijd.
Elk weekend is er in Mazo een boerenmarkt, waar men locale produkten kan proeven en kopen.
Maak een wandeling door het Parque Arqueológico de Belmaco en ontdek de wereld van de oerbewoners van La Palma.
In de maand mei viert men Corpus Christi. De straten van El Pueblo worden versierd met kleden, bogen en schilderijen, gemaakt van natuurlijke produkten zoals bloemblaadjes, zand, rijst enz.
Meer handwerkkunst vindt u in het museum Casa Roja, met voornamelijk borduurkunst, de basis van de handwerkkunst van het eiland.
De liefhebbers van uitzichtpunten mogen Las Toscas, een verhoging van 736 meter, niet overslaan.

Excellent views towards the top of the mountains that divide the island and to the inmense Atlantic Ocean where you can usually spy El Teide, in Tenerife. The peace of the places invites to walk among gardens and vineyards. The mild atmosphere offers the possibility of sunbathing in the terrace or enjoy open air meals round the barbecue.
